Mom's New Camera

Hi everyone! Guess What? Dad bought Mom a new camera today! Isn't Dad a good person? He bought Mom exactly what she wanted so that she could continue to show you all wonderful, cute pictures of me!!!
In the background of the picture to the left you can see Spork sitting among the clean laundry that Mom needs to put away. Spork is cute as well. I like him, even though he hogs Dad sometimes...
Not to much going on here, I just wanted to share the exciting camera news!

Happy Birthday to Me...!!!!!

Hello! Everyone! Well, it's that time again! Tomorrow, January 22nd 2007, is my second birthday! I will be two years old! Yay!
Sadly, still no camera, so I have to use this old picture of all of us instead of a birthday picture (and Mom can't help me post tomorrow so I have to do a post today, but oh well).
In the picture to the left you can see (in vertical order) Dad, Spork, Netty and I next to each other, and Wellington wearing a purple sweater near the bottom. We were snuggling because this picture was taken just a few days before Christmas, and Christmas is a time for that (snuggling).
Well, I had better go and prepare for my birthday!
Happy Birthday to ME!!!!

More Old Pictures

Hi Everyone! The parade of old pictures continues, with this one of me a few weeks ago in my Christmas Coat. I really am cute, aren't I?
In the background you can see the new bike rack that Mom and Dad bought brand new at Goodwill for $19 (when it normally retails for about $200).
Speaking of bikes, Dad is about to buy a new one. Mom promised Dad that if he worked another summer at his job with Party Time (the summers are really hard, with Daddy working eighty or more hours per week), that she would buy him a new bike. So, Daddy signed on for another summer and now it is bike buying time! He (Daddy) is sooooooooo excited! He has been paying much less attention to me than normal, but that's ok, I understand what it is like to be really interested in something.
Mom says that Dad has a disease, for which she made up a name. It is called "Bike Lust". Bike Lust involves being obsessed with bikes and biking, and bike accessories, and the Tour de France, and Lance.... etc.
Mom on the other hand has "Yarn Lust"... I am sure that you can figure out what that involves.
In other news, Mom has just heard from my great grandma that grandpa (mom's dad) has been moved to his permanent prison facility and that Mom can now write to him, so she will probably do that tonight while Dad is Bike Lusting.
Well, I better go, Dad is freaking out about me getting off the computer so that he can bid on a bike on eBay!

Old Pictures Can Still Be Cute...!

Hi Everyone! Jemima Jones here. The weather is turning foul (certainly not fowl) here in Denver again - our high tomorrow is supposed to be only 6 degrees f! Can you believe it?
So, the parade of old pictures continues; because Mom still doesn't have her new camera.
This one is from November of 2006. Dad had just gotten back from a bike ride, and the house was messy, and you can see a Christmas package for a young "underprivileged" person under our entrance table. But don't I look uber-cute? I think so.
Mom turned in her applications to some work type places today. I tried to prevent her (because she doesn't need a job, she needs to stay home with me and cater to my every whim), by stepping on her job application and running off with the first page of two of her freshly printed resumes, but to no avail, Mom locked me in the bedroom and turned her stuff in anyways... bummer.

Mom Needs a New Camera

Hello! How is everyone out there holding up during this cold cold cold winter (well, it's darn cold here anyways)?
Not to much is happening at the Beck home, except that Dad's practically new ipod has broken down! He is going to have to send it into the factory and everything!!! Poor Dad! He keeps complaining about the fact that he can't have music when he exercises now that his ipod is dead, and I feel so so so bad for him, almost as bad as I feel for those people out there who are starving to death and dying in unnecessary wars and what not.
In other electronic news Mom's cell phone has finally kicked the bucket (I didn't actually see this, that's just what Mom says, and honestly, I didn't even know that we owned a bucket). We were all expecting the cell phone to die, because it's from Alltel, and were really just surprised that it didn't happen sooner. So, as soon as the contract on the phone is "up" (instead of down??!?!) Mom is going to switch to TMobile, because Dad wants her to switch to a company that supports biking (for those of you who aren't bike obsessed, TMobile supports a biking team that rides in the Tour de France every year, they are the very very manly men wearing pink jerseys and hats).
Also, the camera that Grandpa Al gave Mom and Dad a few years ago has died, so Mom has been reduced to using old pictures of me when writing this blog until she can afford a new one. It is SO sad that you all can't see my up to the minute cuteness! Oh well!

One Year Anniversary

Hello Everyone! Guess what? Yesterday was the one year anniversary of this blog! That's right, one year ago yesterday, Mom and I were sitting in the library in Corvallis, Oregon composing our first post!
So, Happy Anniversary to Me and My Blog!
I thought that in honor of the anniversary Mom and I (who are currently sitting in a library in Lakewood, Colorado) would re-cap the year!
First, we moved to Oregon and Mom and Dad took me to the coast to meet the ocean life and see the water, and then they got jobs. I turned one year old. I then learned about the minimum wage and Daddy's bike was stolen. We moved back to Colorado, Mom having given up Graduate school in Oregon because she (well..... me too) was so unhappy in Oregon. We moved to Lakewood, and Dad got a good job, and got promoted several times. And then our car died and we bought a new one. And Mom learned how to knit and made me a sweater, and that was about it! What an incredibly boring year! Mom and I both hope that the next one is better!
Here's a preview of the year to come:
Mom is getting a job
Dad is going on a two week bicycle trip
Mom is taking the GRE and finishing her applications to Graduate School
Mom and Dad are planning a trip somewhere (they know where, but don't want to say for some reason) which means that I will get to stay with Grandma Andrea for a few weeks - yay!!!!!
So, thanks for reading in the past year, and keep reading in the upcoming one for more exciting (and probably boring as well), adventures with me, Jemima Jones and my family!

My New Sweater

Hi Everyone! I am sorry about the poor picture quality on the photo to the left but I was so excited to show you all my new sweater that I had to use the very first picture that we had of it! I love my new sweater because... Mom made it! She learned to knit a few months ago and just bought a book that has a bunch of patterns for doggie clothes, so I am going to be a well dressed pug now! Apparently, I am hard to make clothing for because I am a size 14 in the back and a size 22 around the chest. But, Mom says that all of the women in her family have big chests, so I must just be carrying on the family tradition...
