Uh Oh, I am Going to Talk About Daniel Radcliffe Again...

Hello! Everyone! How are you all doing? The weather has been wonderful here in Colorado, and I got to go to Berkley Lake a few days ago. In the background of the picture to the left you can see the Lakeside Amusement Park roller coaster, which Mom and Dad have both been on several times in their lives. I have never been allowed to go, but I have decided that that is OK, considering the size of the thing!
So, even though some really lame person (who has no life) is still sending Mom and I death threats about the post that we made about Daniel Radcliffe a few weeks ago, I am about to mention him again!
Apparently Daniel smokes a cigarette on stage for the play Equus. Now, I am not sure if it is his responsibility to not smoke in public because he is a role model for young children or whatever, but I personally don't find smoking to be sexy at all, so I hope that he (Daniel ) doesn't do it in real life. My little puggie allergies just can't stand the smoke! So, if Daniel is a full time smoker (not just doing it for the role in Equus), then I am very sad because it means that I can't marry him (I'll still have hot puggie dreams about him though)!

Happy Birthday to Dad (Two Days Ago)

Happy Birthday to Dad!!
So, February 23rd was Dad's 23rd birthday! What an exciting day!
First, Dad opened all of his presents (in the picture to the left you can see Netty and Me watching Dad modeling one of his gifts, a new set of "Bib Shorts" which will make Dad lots and lots faster on his bike). Then Mom and Dad went out and ate breakfast. Then, they went and bought Dad another present that Mom wasn't able to buy for Dad herself because she just doesn't know enough about bikes, etc. Then Dad went for a bike ride and tried out all his new biking stuff, and finally they went out to dinner with Grandma Andrea and Leo at Jose Osheas (Grandma didn't even bother to come and see me before dinner but I guess that that is OK because it was Dad's special day.....).
Dad and Mom had a really good time at dinner because Grandma Andrea and Leo are a lot of fun to be around.
Dad was kind of sad and Mom was sort of surprised that several (well, most actually) of Dad's family forgot his birthday! Poor Dad, no one ever forgets my birthday!
Oh well, Dad got what he wanted most on his birthday.....BIKE STUFF!
Love,
Jemima Jones Beck
PS Happy Birthday also to Leah from Life With Pugs, her birthday was also the 23rd!

Dirty Dog

Hi Everyone! Remember how I mentioned in my last blog that I had to have a bath after going to the dog park because I was such a dirty dog? Well, the picture to the left shows the indignity that I was subjected to after the dog park, but before the bath - I had to ride in the back of the Jeep! Can you believe that? I wasn't allowed to sit on Mom or Dad's lap, or even in the back seat, I had to sit in the very back with the milk crates and the bike rack!

Oh...........!!!!!!!!!! The indignity!

Slurpeeeeeeee!

Hello! How are you all doing? I am doing very well, and I am incredibly excited that the weather here in Denver, Colorado has warmed up so much!
It was warm enough yesterday for me to have a little taste of one of my favorite foods - the 7-11 Slurpee! I love Slurpee, especially the Coke flavor, but Mom says that they are really bad for me, so I am usually only allowed a very small taste.
We also went to the Dog Park yesterday...YAY! I got so muddy that I had to have an extra long bath and scrubbing afterwards. But that's OK because going to the park for an hour and a half is totally worth having to take a bath later.
Mom and Dad went out to dinner with Leo, Grandma Andrea, Aunt Marcia, and Great Grandma Sue last night and now they are both really sick. They have the poos - enough said.
Well, I had better go and read the latest death treats (I received another today about my Daniel Radcliffe post and Dad said that I should just treat it as a joke, so HAHAHA).

Wow

Wow. Sometimes (like right now), I am very surprised by the number of adult people and pugs out there who call themselves calm, educated, rational, nice people, but do not know how to express their opinions in a fitting manner. There were some incredibly rude, mean, hurtful, and downright scary comments about my last blog. Comments damning me to hell, and attacking my humans and me. There was even one that threatened my Mother with death for writing such an "abomination". I didn't publish any of them because who needs to be reminded of hurtful things?
Like I said, I am surprised. One of the first things that my Mom ever taught me was that when you disagree with someone, you don't express your opinions to them in a manner that can be taken as a personal attack.
I am also surprised because, this is a blog about a PUG. And it is written by a housewife and her dog. It is not about world events or politics, or anything important, and it is not written by anyone with any type of important, world altering job or position. It is, in other words, meant to be silly, to be taken ironically, and with a grain of salt. Mom and I are not trying to "convert" anyone to any of the opinions that we express here. We are just trying to post cute pictures, and maybe meet other pugs for play dates.
The thing that I am the most surprised about is the number of people that attacked my right to free speech. As someone very famous said "...either everything is OK to write about, or nothing is. Censor one thing, and soon you will be censoring it all...".
So, to those of you out there that wish that Mom and I would die because we think that an actor is charming and cute, that's your opinion and you are welcome to it, but please don't attack me with it and shove it in my face. If you don't like my blog and my opinions, then don't read them, it is, after all, a free country.

Hello! My Name is Jemima Jones and I am a Drooling Daniel Radcliffe Fan (For The Word "Fan" Please Read "Addicted Pervert")

I own every movie that he has ever appeared in. I have read almost every interview that he has ever given. He is my computer desktop background. I think that he seems like a genuinely nice person. I dream about him while lying in the sun. I don't read his fan sites (because they just don't do him justice). I think that he is hotter than Brad Pitt, Cillian Murphy, and Harrison Ford all rolled into one puggie treat. I want Mom to fly me to London just to see the play that he is appearing naked in (Equus) (and just for the nasty person who left a mean comment on here, yes I do know what Equus is about, it is considered to be one of the best pieces of writing in the last century, so quit being such a rude person). I am a drooling, staring, obsessing Daniel Radcliffe fan!
There should be a Step program from pugs like me...
Step One: Admit that you have a problem and are powerless to overcome it (check, but I kind don't want to overcome it).
Step Two: Come to believe that a power greater than yourself can restore you to sanity (sorta check, but why would the higher power have created Daniel if not for pugs like me to drool over?).
Step Three: Make a Searching moral inventory of yourself (well....check. turns out that I am a very immoral pug because I would do almost anything to have just one little teeny tiny itty bitty bit of Daniel Radcliffe for my own)
Step Four:Admit to god, and another pug the exact nature of your wrongs (super good check, because that's what I am doing in this blog, admitting to all of my puggie readers that I am one Daniel Radcliffe lovin' puppy)
Step Five: Humbly ask the higher power to remove the shortcoming (no check here, I hope that God allows me to look at Daniel Radcliffe for a long long long long time)
Step Six: Make a list of all people harmed and make amens to them (check: Dad I am sorry that I forced Mom to remove your picture from her desktop background in order to put a picture of Daniel Radcliffe shirtless on there)
Step Seven: Having had a spiritual awakening as a result of the previous steps, carry the message to others (uhhhhh....check.... "CALLING ALL DANIEL RADCLIFFE LOVING PUGS! PLEASE JOIN ME IN SUPPORTING DANIEL RADCLIFFE IN ALL OF HIS ENDEAVORS (ESPECIALLY ONES THAT INVOLVE HIM TAKING HIS SHIRT OFF) AND IN TRAVELING TO LONDON TO SEE SAID SHIRTLESS-NESS. THANK YOU".
So, now you all know, that I am a Daniel Radcliffe "Fan". I felt that it was really time to admit it. I feel better now, thank you!
Love, Jemima Jones Beck
PS if you would like to donate to the "send Jemima to see Daniel in London fund" please contact Mom.
PPS please note that some people find the following pictures to be "to much" for young pugs, (yeah, "to much" clothing left on him) and that they were borrowed from a number of sources.
PPSS Mom says that I sound like a pervert, but I am really not. I really respect the guy and all of the charitable contributions that he has made and the fact that he is making such an amazing and brave leap in his acting career. But, you have to admit that part of being a star is being hot and he sure is! MMMM MMM!

Congratulations to Grandma Andrea and Leo

Hello! How are all of my readers today? I think that a lot of you are probably trying to dig yourselves out of the snow, and I hope that that is going well! Our weather here has been warmer, but not sunny.

Well, I have some very exciting news! Grandma Andrea has become "engaged" to her long time boyfriend, Leo! Yay! Apparently, Leo asked Grandma Andrea to marry him while they were skiing at Winterpark ski resort! How sweet is that? He gave her some "bling" as well (for those pugs out there that don't know humans give each other "bling" on special occasions or to bribe each other into doing things that they wouldn't normally do, such as committing themselves to a lifetime of housecleaning and laundry).

I hope that Grandma Andrea and Leo are very happy, and I would like to take this opportunity to announce that I am still on the market, and bling-less, so any male puggies out there who want to meet up should let me know!!!

Well, good luck to Grandma Andrea and Leo!

Love,

Jemima Jones Beck

Happy Valentines Day!

Happy Valentines Day! I love this time of year because I (as a Pug) love Love! I like seeing people at least pretending to be happy and love each other. Plus I think that human mating rituals are awfully cute. Last year for Valentines Day Mom went through a whole bunch of trouble and ordered Dad his favorite cheese from Greece, and then made his favorite recipe with the cheese (browned butter and mitizthra cheese on pasta). Mom and Dad ate so much of it that they were both sick, and went to bed rather than doing the other things that they had planned. This year, Mom and Dad are going out to dinner at 240 Union, a restaurant that I have mentioned before as one that they go to on special occasions. They are taking Grandma Marlane and Grandpa Steve with them because today is Grandma Marlane's birthday (Happy Birthday Grandma). It doesn't sound romantic, but it does sound fun! I wish that I could go so that I could see Grandma and Grandpa as well, but oh well... In the picture above you can see that I got to eat a whole bunch of Valentines Day candies for my celebration (actually, I only ate one because those things are gross...yuck)! But at least I was able to try them! We borrowed the comic below from Marlene the Pug, she always has such cute things on her website, and she is such a cute sweetie herself! Well, I had better go and help Mom eat breakfast! Love to all on this Valentines Day! Jemima Jones Beck

Sleeping with Netty, As Usual

Hello! Everyone! Long time no post, but as other people who live in Denver (Hi Leah) have mentioned, life here is kind of blah these days. All of the cold and the snow is really getting to me.
So, in the picture to the left you can see me sleeping with Netty, which is something that I do frequently when the world is "blah".
Mom has been doing a ton of knitting. She finished like a dozen projects in just a few days because of the weather! Wow!
Dad is working, and really enjoying his new bike!
Well, I had better go and hope for more exciting news tomorrow, or the next day, or at least sometime soon!
Love,

Dad's New Bike

Hello! Happy Readers!
Well, a few days ago I mentioned that Mom had a job interview that she wanted to get home in time for. Her interview went very well and she was offered a very very lucrative teaching position in South Korea! However, Mom was forced to turn the job down because of the city that the company who offered her the job wanted her to teach in. It was, as the job contract stated, "remote". Now, Mom has no problems with remote locations in normal situations, and she has been to and lived in remote situations in Tibet, and China, but she decided that if she was going to move to South Korea for a whole year, then she wanted to be in the capital city of Seoul. She told the interviewers this, but they assumed that if they offered her more money to work in a remote area that she would just snap up the opportunity. Oh well, at least now Mom will be home with me, to take care of me, and to take care of Dad (Dad was a little bit worried about all of the stuff that he would have to do, like grocery shopping).
In other news, we have finally been able to buy Dad a new bike! Yay!!!
There were several aborted attempts, in which SOMETHING always fell through. But last night we drove to Boulder and came home with "Allegra", Dad's new Specialized Allez (Mom named the bike Allegra, I am not sure why... something to do with allergies). Dad loves his bike and it's going to make his bike racing times much faster because the bike is soooooo light (it weighs less than 15 lbs). So, please look at the picture of Daddy below so that you can see Allegra.
Well, I had better go help Mom make the bed and examine her latest job search possibilities to make sure that none of them are in Timbuktu or something!
Love,
Jemima Jones Beck
ps in the picture to the left you can see Dad and I doing one of our favorite things, watching the tour de france together!

Pictures By Dad

Well, we thought that we would give you a quick preview of what part of the blog would be like if Dad were to help me, instead of Mom. To the left you can see a picture by Dad (not by Mom). What do you think? Could Dad handle the situation? Could he handle the blog? Mom's pictures are a little bit better, but Dad is a nicer person, so..... that's good, right?

Love,

Jemima Jones Beck

The New Blogger

Well, Mom has done it... she has switched to "The New Blogger". Yes, after resisting for several months we have made the switch. So far, no difference, except that pictures are now harder to download and we could use "post labels" (whatever those are), if we wanted to. Fortunately (because we don't know how to do "post labels"), we don't want to.
So, other exciting news. Mom has a job interview this afternoon at 5:00pm. It is a phone interview, which means that I will be able to sit by Mom and distract her horribly during the whole thing! YAY!
Mom doesn't want me to say what position she is interviewing for unless she gets the job (because the excitement of this job prospect might just be to much for some people to handle) but I can give you a clue: If Mom gets this job then DAD will be helping me with my blog for a little while, because Mom wont be able to! That would be different huh?
Mom's Aunt Lindy and Cousin Heidi have apparently been reading this blog (AHHHH yes, another family reunited by Jemima Jones), and they want Mom to email them, but she doesn't have their email address, so they need to write a comment and leave their email addresses for Mom, or else call Bon and tell her so that she can tell Mom (got that complicatedness?)!
Well,
I better go, Mom doesn't want to get home late and be, well, LATE, for her job interview.
Love to All!!!!!
