This is Moe

Hi Everyone!
Dad has volunteered us to watch this little guy for the week, so I thought that it would only be polite for me to introduce...Moe the Cockatiel.
As you can clearly see in the pictures here included, we are all truly fascinated by Moe...and Moe...well...Moe likes Mom and Dad.
He clearly does not appreciate Wellington and I looking into his cage - we all need privacy I guess - huh? And becomes very ruffled when Wellington and Netty try to get a closer look...!
So I guess that there will probably be no inter species bonding between Moe and I - but he is pretty - don't you think?

Oooops...Sorry Mom

So....ummm... remember I told you about the shoes that Mom and Aunt Marcia and Grandma went and bought for Grandma Andrea's wedding (which is in just a few days)?
Well, today I got into Mom's closet and I got out those shoes and I chewed the heels off of them.
I am not sure why I did it - I haven't chewed anything since I was a little baby, but these heels - five inches of puggy goodness I tell you what! I couldn't resist!
Plus, they looked so good on Mom's feet I figured that they must be tasty.
So now Mom is mad at me because those were the last pair in her size and they were very expensive and they were very hard to find.
She wants to know why now? and why these shoes? and do I hate her or something (of course not Momma dear).
You can see that I gave Mom my best "I am sorry please look at my cute belly and feel better" pose, so hopefully all is now forgiven!

I Don't Really Feel Like Talking about me Today....

Today I don't really feel like talking about me...you know? I am just doing my normal puggy thing - chewing my bone, harassing the cats, and pooing outside, so there isnt much new and exciting material around.
So, I guess that I will talk about Mom and Dad. They aren't really exciting either, but atleast they get to do things other than sit around the house (hint hint Mom - it's been two weeks since we have been to the park and you are only working a half day tomorrow).
Dad did something really cool the other day - he rode his bike to the summit of the Highest Paved Road in North America - otherwise known as Mt. Evans here in Colorado. The Summit is at 14,240 feet. Thats cool huh? You can see from the pictures that he doesn't even look winded where as Mom and I get tired just looking at the website for Mt. Evans - go Dad!
Mom didn't do anything nearly as exciting. She and Grandma Andrea and Aunt Marcia went shopping for shoes for Grandma Andrea's wedding (which is on September 2nd). Mom bought some shoes and Aunt Marcia bought a dress and shoes, but before they did all that buyin' they went to a Sportsman's store to buy "flys" for Grandma Andrea (so that she can go "fly fishing" with her fiance, Leo).
Apparently Mom and Aunt Marcia didn't fit in at the store very well because, well, they weren't taking it seriously enough.
Aunt Marcia decided to use a net, that is normally used to catch fish, as a hat, and Mom apparently made a big 'poefah" when she tried to help Grandma Andrea find some "flys". I guess that she was supposed to be looking for the useful flies of certain sizes, and insead she just kept suggesting the pretty pink ones, or the ones that had sparkles. Some guy laughed at her and stuff... you can see some "useful and not pretty flys" in one of the pictures included here - incase you are interested, and you can also see just how interested I was in having my picture taken today.
So, I guess that they had fun!
Better run!

Happy Birthday to Mom

Hi Guys! Jemima Jones Beck here to say "Happy Birthday to Mom"!
That's right, today is Mom's 23rd human birthday, that makes her - let me just get out the calculator here - 161 in puggy years! Wow! Mom is old! Wheew! Better not sneeze on Mom or her frail old body will be blown to bits! She must need a walker soon. And Depends.
Anyways, in the pictures included you can see me, sitting with Mom, as well as the things that Mom's coworkers did to her desk at work.
They wrapped everything in paper and stuffed balloons all over the place and coated her desk with confetti, and, well, you get the idea! Mom was excited and felt special. After all of that, her coworkers also made her some special Lemon flavored cupcakes - because Mom does not like chocolate.
The last picture is of the restaurant that Dad took Mom to this evening for her birthday. It is really famous and got like five "stars" in some test...so that's good I guess. I wouldn't know for sure because of course I wasn't invited...not even a doggy bag! Can you believe it?

Get Well Soon Great Grandma Sue

Hi! Everyone! Jemima Jones Beck here with some really sad news. My Great Grandma Sue (my Mom's Grandma), is in the hospital.
I last saw Great Grandma at Grandma Andrea's Bridal Shower, and she looked great, so I am really very surprised and upset that she is now doing so badly....... :(
Anyways, Mom went with Grandma Andrea (on the left) and Aunt Marcia (on the right) to the Hospital in Denver to visit Great Grandma (I wasn't allowed to go, so I am not in the picture), but you can see how sad I was when Mom told me the news in
the second picture!
So, I hope that you will all join me in wishing my Great Grandma Sue a very speedy recovery!

Mom's Friend Jessica

Hello! everyone! The picture that is included in this blog is of me, and Mom's best friend from High School, Jessica Olin.
Jessica came with Mom and I to the dog park today...she even passed up a date with some hot "dude" to see us....I must be really cute and important to command such attention!
You may remember that Mom and Dad ditched me last December for an entire night to go and see Jessica's senior concert (Jessica is majoring in Dance at Colorado State University, and is a ballerina). This is only the second time that Mom has gotten to see Jessica since then, so I guess that it's OK that about the only attention that they paid to me was when they took this picture....

Grandma Andrea's Bridal Shower

Hello! All! Guess what happened last Saturday? Mom and I hosted Grandma Andrea's Bridal Shower! Guess what else happened? Mom's camera ran out of battery life after taking only one picture - the one that you see at the top of this post!
How lucky is that! The one picture that Mom was able to take was of me! Oh! The love!
In the picture here included you can see just how much I was enjoying the party - food and attention galore. I was about to get, yet another, snack from one of the nice ladies that came to Grandma Andrea's shower. I had a lot of snacks. So many in fact that I managed to stuff myself to the point of passing out on the floor...dead to the world...one satisfied pug!
Will write more later!

Suki Sumo Wants to Know....

What my favorite treats are!
Well, Ms Sumo, I love Eukanuba Healthy Extras Small Breed treats!
They are soooooooooooooo yummy and sooooooooo healthy! I can eat tons of them and not get fat, because they have vitamins....right Mom? What? Just because they have vitamins doesn't mean that they wont make me fat? Oh. Oh well! I can still eat tons of them!
I wish that I could have one right now.
In the second picture you can see just how sad it makes me when Mom wont give me a treat!

Setting up Grandma Andrea's Bridal Shower Continued

To continue showing you how we set up Grandma Andrea's Bridal shower tent I have included here a series of pictures where in Dad swings a big huge sledge hammer into a big huge stake, and thus stakes down Grandma Andrea's tent so that it doesn't blow away. Dad had to pound in 20 stakes for this tent - I thought "wow" but Dad says that a normal tent for him takes about 100 stakes!
Seriously "wow"! Anyways, if you look at each picture you can see the hammer swinging, and then hitting the stake!
Cool huh?

Setting up Grandma Andrea's Bridal Shower

Hi there everyone!
Jemima Jones Beck here to tell you about - a big huge tent!
As many of you know, Mom is serving as Brides Maid to Grandma Andrea in her upcoming wedding to Leo Peltier (See side bar for picture of the two of them together), and so Mom is hosting Grandma Andrea's Bridal Shower next Saturday (alas, I am not invited).
So, since so many people are coming, Mom has to host the Bridal Shower in a tent outside of Grandpa Steve and Grandma Marlane's house, and we had to go and set that tent up today
(because Dad can't do it any other day this week, and Mom can't do it alone).
So, first we went to Dad's work and cleaned out a truck big enough to put all the stuff that we needed in it. In the first picture you can see Dad and I at the very far end of the semi trailer that we used to haul the stuff. We are standing by 150 gallon water barrels that are used to "weight" a tent down.
In the next picture I am sitting by the opening of the semi, looking into the truck next door (in which Dad was standing, but you can't see him).
After we got our truck cleaned out, and then re-loaded with the appropriate stuff we drove the semi to Grandma Marlane's house and set up the tent.
The tent it's self is 30 feet by 20 feet, fairly small, and much much smaller than the normal tents that Dad sets up for people, but it seemed huge to me!
In the last two pictures you can see the tent at about the halfway point, and at the 100% done point. The only thing that Mom will have to do next weekend is set up the tables and chairs (you can see that they are in position for storage in the last picture), and decorate!
Wheew! I hope that Grandma Andrea has a good time at the bridal shower that Mom is hosting for her!
And Thank you very much to Grandpa Steve and Grandma Marlane, they are so nice to Mom!
Love,
Jemima Jones Beck

Credit Card Debt

Hi there everyone!
How are you all doing today?
Today in Denver it is raining cats and dogs (or, that's what I think that Mom said anyways, but I haven't been hit by a falling Great Dane yet, so I am not sure that I heard her correctly).
I just wanted to say a big yippee! Because Mom and Dad have finally paid off their credit card debt!
That's right! At 10:00am this morning Mom made the last payment on the credit card debt that amounted to over $20,000 two years ago!
In the picture included you can see me celebrating by...laying on the floor...woo hoo! Part-ay!
Go Mom and Dad!
Love,
Jemima Jones Beck
