My Floatation Device

Hi! Everyone! Jemima Jones Beck here with just one more picture from my paddle boating adventure, this one of me wearing my floatation device. Mom and Dad were only able to keep it on me for a short while (and indeed, in this picture Dad is struggling to keep me from wriggling out of the horrible thing), but at least they did try to keep my little puggie butt from sinking to the bottom of Berkeley Lake. I felt loved, loved and strangled but, you know, sometimes that's OK.

Paddle Boating

Hey! Everyone! Guess what? Today Mom and Dad took me paddle boating! It was super exciting. This first picture is of the paddle boat dock.

And in this picture we are paddling away from the dock...into the middle of a lake! We were, like, TOTALLY surrounded by water!

Here's a picture of me sitting "up front" with Dad.

Checking out the paddles for myself...

In this picture Dad is steering us directly for some Lilly pads. Luckily we didn't hit any of them. You can also see Lakeside Amusement Park in the background there...

More Lilly pads and the creepy people in another boat who seemed to be following us!

And me, in my uber special seat behind Dad's seat (Don't even ask how far Mom had to lean out of the boat to get that shot).

Netty Killed the Veggies

Hi! Everyone! Jemima Jones Beck here with some sad news. Last night, Netty the cat, stomped, chewed, rolled on, and otherwise massacred Mom's little veggie garden. All of the lettuce, beets, and carrots are dead. We are all very sad (except for Dad, who doesn't care).
Mom has replanted the earth box with tomatoes because she read somewhere that cats don't care for the smell of tomatoes.
Good luck little tomatoes. I hope that you fare better than your predecessors! Sheepy and I will lay here (see picture) and watch out for you!

Grandma Andrea's Sweater

Hi! Everyone!
As promised here are two pictures (taken by Leo - thanks Leo!) of Grandma Andrea in the Mother's Day Sweater that Mom knit for her this year.
Those of you who are knitters may want to know that Mom used this pattern and this yarn in color 5225 to knit Grandma Andrea's sweater.
I am impressed that Mom managed to knit, block, and assemble Grandma Andrea's sweater in only five days, but Mom is sad that she finished it one day late.
Grandma Andrea, you're so silly!

And here is a gratuitous shot of Dad's butt. Or rather, of me chewing my Christmas Tree while using Dad's butt as a prop for said tree. You can also see that Mom's book collection is getting out of hand again. I see another bookshelf in our future.
Love,
Jemima Jones Beck
PS: Mom wanted me to let you all know that our internet is not working at home so we are having trouble getting around to visit our blog friends, but hopefully our internet will be back up and running soon!

Mother's Day

Hey! Everyone! Jemima Jones Beck here. Nothing very exciting going on in Lakewood, Colorado today but as Great Grandma Velna would say: sometimes nothing is much better than a whole lotta' something.
Mother's Day was fun at our house: we had Grandma Andrea and Leo over for dinner. Mom made spaghetti Alfredo, salad, and a giant chocolate cake with chocolate ganache frosting. I didn't get to eat any of the enticing smelling food but I did get to hang out with Leo, whom I adore. In the first picture you can see me sitting my his foot while showing him my Sheepy. Sheepy is my favorite stuffed friend and I only show him to my favorite people. You know that I really like you when I run up to you and ram you in the ankle with Sheepy.
Mom knit Grandma Andrea a sweater for Mother's Day. It is really cool, and I will have a picture of Grandma Andrea wearing it for you soon, but for now you will have to make due with these two pictures of Grandma Andrea and Leo wearing normal clothes that, you know, Mom didn't make or anything.

A 30 Minute Slice of My Sunday

Hi! Everyone! Jemima Jones Beck here bringing you a 30 minute slice of my super exciting Sunday!
10:30am: stare at Mom balefully as she drags me out of bed. Apparently, it is time to get up.
10:31: Find my Christmas tree toy where I left it last night, underneath Mom's chair.
10:32: Chew Christmas tree toy.
10:33: Snuggle Christmas tree toy.
10:45: Still snuggling Christmas tree toy while watching Mom wash dishes, change the trash bag and scoop the cat poop.
10: 46: Suddenly realize that Dad is not home.
10:47: Chase Mom around the house telepathically asking her "Where is Dad? Where is Dad? Where is Dad? Where is my food? Where is Dad?"
10:48: Trip Mom while she is coming out of the kitchen. Forcibly ejected from kitchen without food, or answer to the Dad Question.
10:50am: Watch for Dad out front window
10:55: Dad has not returned but have valiantly kept up watch at front window...
11:00am: Still no Dad. Hope: low, food: none. Mom: still angry about the tripping incident. Better go find my Christmas tree for another snuggle!

I am Not Dirty Laundry

Hi! Everyone! Jemima Jones Beck here. So, like, it's been a really long time since I have posted, and for that, I am truly sorry.
Here come the excuses: 1. We got A LOT of snow and therefore, no good blog pictures. 2. Mom got really sick, so no one could help me type and 3. Dad got sick so Mom wasn't paying much attention to me or my needs. That's totally enough excuses to explain a two week absence- yes?
Anyways, everyone is all better and the snow is melting, so I am back.
How do you like this picture? In this picture I am sitting in the laundry basket. That's where I sit while Mom takes a shower and gets dressed (on the days when she actually does those things...surprisingly less and less frequent the longer that she is unemployed I am sad to say, but I love her even if she does wear her pajamas almost constantly). Don't I look cute? Don't I look fabulous? Isn't my neck fat attractive? Yeah, you all know that you want some lovin' from me, go on now!
Mom says that she is really excited that so many people are interested in going to the Meetup in Las Vegas! She thinks that everyone is going to have a good time!
More soon!
Love,
Jemima Jones Beck
