Hi! Everyone! Jemima Jones Beck here! How are you? I'm doing pretty well except for the fact that nothing new has been happening here around our house lately so I have been rather bored.
Mom has been spending all of her time either looking for work or scrapbooking.
Let me tell you about the scrapbooking project that Mom is currently working on:
When Great Grandma Sue died almost two years ago she left a TON of pictures.
Several months ago Mom and Grandma Andrea organized those pictures and Mom agreed to divide them up and use them to make three separate scrapbooks, one each for her Uncle Scott, her Aunt Marcia, and her Mom (my Grandma Andrea) each of whom is one of Great Grandma Sue's children. In that way, each person could have a nice way of remembering a lot of family history and Mom (who is an organizational FREAK) wouldn't have to stay awake nights thinking about all those photos going unorganized and unused in Grandma Andrea's basement.
So, Mom easily finished Uncle Scott's scrapbook, and then Aunt Marcia's, and now she is working on the final one, Grandma Andrea's. The only thing is, Mom is starting to get a bit...frustrated by the whole project.
You see, the pictures that she is using span a HUUUUUUUUUUUGE chunk of her family's history including the last six generations with photo's dating back into the 1930's. They are ALL (Jemima's Mom's Note: ALL OF THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!! ARRRRGH!!!!!!!! ARGH!!!! AHHHHHHHH!!!!) unlabeled and undated. An enormous amount of them are in black and white and the vast majority are ripped or folded or in some way violated and in need of restoration before use in the scrapbook. Grandma Andrea's scrapbook is already up to 40 complete pages with the end, well, apparently not close enough for Mom to have it in her sites. I keep hearing comments not befitting a scrapbooker coming from Mom's corner. Things like "Stick, you b*****d piece of s**t!" and "ANOTHER freaking unlabeled picture! Oh! And another! And another! And another f*****g one!" and "Gosh freaking darn it! Where did YOU come from? Why weren't you in the pile with the other pictures from the 1960's?! Now I have to find a damn place for you three pages back! Why me? Why?!".
All in all, I am thinking that it would be good for her blood pressure if Mom could get these scrapbooks done. So, I am going to let her get back to it!
Love,
Jemima Jones Beck
