Mom hates hiking. She says that she always has, and that the reason is because hiking is just walking but on dirt and with bugs, so what, exactly, is there to be SO thrilled about?
Dad, on the other hand, LOVES hiking. He thinks that it is awesome to be out and about in nature and stuff. And he will take almost any opportunity that he can get to do it, even hiking 14'ers in Winter.
Ever since Mom and Dad met, almost a decade ago, Dad has been consistently trying to get Mom to hike with him. But no. Mom has struggled valiantly against the evil that is walking on dirt, with bugs.
Until recently when Mom realized that hiking is actually walking WITH Dad, who she loves and wants to spend time with and see happy.
So, Mom, Dad and I have been hiking a lot and I thought that I would share some pictures with you, like these which are from our hike to St. Mary's Glacier.
St. Mary's Glacier is a glacier that isn't really a glacier because it does not flow. Everyone in Colorado just calls it a glacier because we're like that. In actuality, the thing that we all call a "glacier" is a snowfield located at 11,000 feet above sea level. It feeds a chilly lake and provides year round snow related sports for those people who are just
that attached to their skis and snowboards.
The first picture is of Dad and I on the hike to the "glacier".

The second picture is a little bit more interesting. In this picture we have made it to the top of the climb, and are at the glacier fed lake. Can you guess what is about to happen to me?

If you guessed that Dad was about to put me on a rock in the middle of the glacier fed lake, well then, you were right...brrrrr....

The fourth picture is of the "glacier". Snow in July people! Marvel at our insane Colorado landscape!

The last picture is of Mom, Dad and I standing proudly in front of the glacier and lake. Shortly after this picture was taken a man (who was being filmed by a professional film crew) skied naked down the chute over Mom's left shoulder into the lake. I bet that his willy was chilly after that! Woo!
